“On those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned.”
When creative director Max Page approached me about this short film, I couldn’t wait to get involved. His vision was to build a metaphorical world around the very real experience of tribes and villages who are in the process of being reached by the Gospel.
We follow the story of a young boy who has spent his life in darkness but knows that light must be out there. Inspired by animated graphic novels, the design and animation style centers around bringing subtle life to storybook-style illustrations for a result that lets the viewer absorb each frame as a nearly-frozen moment in time.
I hope you enjoy the world we built… and maybe even recognize your own story in the joy of what it feels like to experience real light for the first time.
